Books For Kids!

From timeless classics to new releases, you will find children's books for every age and stage.

My amazing grandson (Sincere) is loving a classic favorite "The Little Train That Could"..Video

"The stories we hear as children shape our view of the world. Most small children live their lives in quite a limited environment. Reading stories to children can show them far-flung places, extraordinary people and eye-opening situations to expand and enrich their world.

The benefits children get from having stories read to them are hugely increased when parents talk and ask questions about the story as well. If you’re rushing around looking after small children, it can be hard to find the time to sit down and read to them every day. Parents also might not feel comfortable reading aloud to their children no matter how much they’d like to, through lack of confidence, or worries about their own literacy skills. Stories don’t have to just live in books though. Traditions of storytelling go back through human existence a long time before books were even invented." - From iWonder

THE FLATIRON BUILDING

……………………………………………………………

For more than a century, New York City’s famous Flatiron Building has occupied a piece of curiously shaped real estate at 175 Fifth Avenue, sitting on a small triangular island at 23rd Street and Broadway, facing Madison Square. Designed by Chicago’s Daniel Burnham in the Beaux-Arts style, it was one of the tallest buildings in Manhattan upon its completion in 1902. Constructed using limestone and terra-cotta, and until fairly recently sporting hydraulic elevators, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, appearing in numerous movies and on countless postcards and posters. Aside from the ground floor retail space, Macmillan Publishers is the sole tenant. The Flatiron’s interior is known for its strangely shaped offices, with walls that cut through at an angle on their way to the skyscraper’s famous point. These “point” offices feature amazing northern views that look directly upon another famous Manhattan landmark, the Empire State Building.
